The Responder Info Window
The Responder Info Window is where you identify your home automation controllers, devices, install your devices, and edit properties of devices. This is a general description of the window, the fields, and options.
Name |
You can provide any name for an event. Event names do not need to be unique. |
Description |
Optional notes about the event. |
When |
This is the action that triggers the responder to perform its actions. The trigger can be a device operation like a motion sensor signaling “On”. Also, for the Mac schedule, the trigger can be something Mac-related, such as when the Mac wakes up, goes to sleep, you login or use Fast User Switching. |
Actions |
Typical actions taken by a controller are turning lights on and off, or dimming and brightening. The Mac can also take other actions, such as sending email or instant messages (even to a cell phone), logging, opening web pages and files, running scripts and more. For more info about actions, see Editing Actions. |
